Base Salary:

$54,035.00


Performance Pay:

Available annually


New hire experience:

$500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience


New hire education:

$65/hour of graduate level credits:
BA +45 hours max,

MA +60 hours max $1000 for advanced degrees


Class/Calendar:

Certified Exempt, 187 workdays

OVERVIEW:


The CAPS Program Coordinator assumes a crucial role in the management and facilitation of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) program.

This role entails close collaboration with industry partners to craft practical learning opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students.

The primary objective is to curate personalized learning experiences that push students to utilize technical expertise and MPS Portrait of a Graduate skills in genuine professional scenarios.

The ultimate goal is to foster skill development that meets genuine industry demands.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Valid Career and Technical Education Certification
  • Previous experience in curriculum development, or program coordination, preferably in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) setting.
  • Experience working with industry partners and stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of CTE principles, industry standards, and educational best practices. Familiarity with projectbased learning and experiential education methodologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective liaison with industry partners, educators, students, and other stakeholders. The ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely is crucial.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including educators, industry professionals, and administrators. Must be able to facilitate productive partnerships and work towards common goals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary for managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are critical.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing circumstances and evolving program needs. Must be able to innovate and adjust strategies as required to meet program objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others towards achieving program goals. Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms used for curriculum development and program management.
  • A genuine passion for student success and a commitment to providing highquality educational experiences that prepare students for success in their chosen careers.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside the traditional working hours and calendar of teachers, including evenings, weekends, and summers.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement supporting the Mesa Public Schools Promise and strategic goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborate with educators and industry professionals to design and implement a curriculum that immerses students in realworld problemsolving experiences.
  • Coordinate mentorship opportunities for students with actual employers, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage daytoday operations of the CAPS program, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Foster partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and educational institutions to support program goals and objectives.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to students as they navigate their CAPS experience, facilitating growth and development in professional skills.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assess program effectiveness and student outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CAPS program and external stakeholders, communicating program initiatives and successes to the broader community.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in education, workforce development, and industry to inform program design and implementation.
