***The Executive Vice President, International Network has overall responsibility for developing the framework, strategies and workplans for the International Network of United Ways. This position leads the team in its support of the work of the regional offices, assures that network partners receive value and are thoroughly engaged in the global network spread across
36 countries and territories. This will include assuring that support is provided from all parts of UWW. This position is the primary relationship manager, in collaboration with the Regional Vice Presidents, interfacing with national and local partner organizations in ways that will drive their success in building better communities & advancing the common good. Through the Thriving United Ways framework, strengthens global network partner capacity to achieve long-term goals. This person will also be responsible for oversight of membership requirement compliance, key strategic partner relationships, international disaster response facilitation, and building & supporting worldwide talent management.

The position is based in Alexandria, VA & will require substantial international travel.

We expect travel needs to be at least 50% of the work year.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Leads the United Way Worldwide International Network team, who are responsible for interfacing with the Local United Ways in their regions.
  • Develops and monitors strategic execution of International Network plans.
  • Responsible for developing the team to cultivate global donors and assuring that Network Partners receive value for their support.
  • Ensure the strategy and priorities of United Way Worldwide are implemented globally by serving as the primary liaison with the regional offices and staff.
  • Responsible for assuring that Membership Requirements Compliance audits are conducted and up to date.
  • Assessment Global Standards Self-Assessment process throughout the International Network.
  • Assures that Partnership Agreements and trademark licenses/sublicenses are uptodate and UWW is meeting its responsibilities accordingly.
  • Provides oversight/direction to ensure policies and procedures regarding Network Partners and International Network are documented and followed.
  • Serves as staff support for the Membership Accountability Committee.
  • Manages key worldwide external relationships such as international NGO's, United Nations, and regional development associations.
  • Serves as primary liaison with Global Marketing and Communications to maximize the impact of the United Way brand around the world including virtual communications.
  • Accountable for budget to include management of expenses and realization of revenue, including setting revenue generation metrics for Regional Vice Presidents.
  • Champions the development and implementation of professionaldevelopment programs for Local United Ways.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree: Master's degree preferred; or commensurate experience.
  • Ten years of expertlevel experience in a senior management role in large organizations
  • NGOs, Government, Private Sector, multilateral institutions etc.
  • Five years of international experience.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Must have a strong understanding of how the civic sector functions outside of North America.
  • Creative, proactive, and thoughtful leader with excellent relationship management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff while coaching team for excellence.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Appreciation and respect for diverse cultures.
  • Multilingual, proficient in at least one other language besides English.
  • Additional duties assigned by the President and CEO.

SALARY STATEMENT
The budgeted salary range for this position is currently $270,000 to $305,000 per year. Salaries are determined by several factors including applicant's knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market data.
