Respiratory Health Association is a 501(c)3 local lung health charity residing in Chicago since 1906. We believe in a future free of lung disease. A world without lung cancer, asthma, or COPD. A world with clean air, where everyone breathes easier. To achieve that goal, we collaborate with researchers in a relentless pursuit of new treatments and cures. We empower adults and children living with lung disease by teaching them skills to manage their health.

We work with lawmakers to craft innovative policies that promote healthy communities, reduce tobacco use, protect our environment, and build a more sustainable future.


Reporting to the Senior Director, this position will perform the administrative duties associated with the Programs and Policy Office's grant funded activities.

The Office delivers programs addressing asthma, tobacco use, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, other lung conditions, and clean air. Currently the 8-person office is funded by 16 grants totally close to $1.7 million.


Responsibilities
Providing overall administrative support to ensure the effectiveness of the Programs and Policy Office, duties will include:

  • Periodic communications with grantors
  • Process grant agreements
  • Develop a calendar for tracking grant reporting and other deadlines
  • Manage the development and execution of subcontracts and other written agreements between Respiratory Health Association and partner agencies.
  • Assist in the collection and processing of required subgrantee quarterly reports.
  • Assist in tracking grant performance relative to funded deliverables.
  • Track grant expenditures, in collaboration with Finance Office.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment with grant requirements and reports.
  • Work with RHA's Finance Office to coordinate report submissions.
  • Process reimbursement and expenditure forms for Office staff.
  • Support Asthma team with school outreach and program scheduling
  • With other staff, identify potential funding opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of work experience in a responsible administrative or program administrator role, preferably for a nonforprofit.
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant's credentials.
  • Ability to work independently, but with guidance, on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong collaborator who can work well with internal team members and external organizational unit.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Salary/Benefits:


  • Salary $50,000 annually.
