As renewable energy sources are not yet able to fully meet the energy demands of industrialized Germany, STEAG Power's coal-fired power plants are necessary for a largely emissions-free energy production in the coming years.

Additionally, STEAG Power operates a large power plant in Turkey. Despite its long-term goal of phasing out coal-fired power generation, STEAG remains committed to its strategy.
