Position Summary

Designs, develops, implements, and oversees Vegetation Management safety programs. Manages activities associated with safety, including planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting the effectiveness of such programs. Responsible for organizing, leading, and facilitating cross-functional teams and communicating programs. Works with Safety leaders to strategize and execute program initiatives; supports execution by providing tools to leadership champions. Delivers presentations and facilitates meetings throughout the LOB including contractors.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. Headquarters location is flexible within the PG&E service territory


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.

This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, particular skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$128,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$218,000

&/OR


California Minimum:
$122,000


California Maximum:
$207,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.


Responsibilities:

Leads Safety program goals and metrics development to meet company goals and objectives.
Creates safety standards and policies that meet regulatory compliance and represent best practices.
Recognizes, evaluates, recommends, and implements PG&E Safety policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with Safety requirements.
Makes presentations to senior leadership and communicates program philosophy, information, and operational policies and procedures.
Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulatory compliance.
Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed occupational health and safety regulations changes.
Develops and provides Safety training to Company employees.

Develops and implements programs, including leading coordination and facilitating program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review costs, schedule, and program effectiveness.

Promotes programs to enhance and encourage employee and contractor awareness of safety, accident/incidents, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
Coaches and mentors less experienced employees
Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support the program.
Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals.
Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory, and/or industry decisions.


Qualifications:


Minimum:

BA / BS degree or equivalent experience.
Nine years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction or utility environment or similar industry related experience.


Desired:

Certified as a CIH, CSP or CHST.
Utility experience.
Highly effective communication skills.
Ability to organize clear and concise presentation points and deliver these in an informative, engaging, and articulate manner.
Ability to solve problems, taking into account the strategic and operational perspective.
Demonstrated strong customer focus, project achievement/management, and cross-functional collaboration/teamwork skills.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, results-orientated environment.
Ability to think and work independently using a wide range of resources.
Knowledge of incident investigation analysis and corrective action plan development/management.
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Advanced knowledge of CalOSHA general industry, construction safety orders, and other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, NEC, FedOSHA, etc.
