    On-call, Per-diem positions

    Provide non-clinical assistance and peer recovery support for people with substance use disorder that are either self-referred or referred from a local hospital or police department. Recovery Specialists are compensated to be on-call for a 12-hour shift (7AM-7PM and 7PM-7AM) and then provided additional compensation when deployed.

    Responsibilities: The Recovery Specialist will help participants develop a recovery management plan, provide telephone recovery support, and work collaboratively with the patient navigator to ensure coordination of services. Recovery Specialists may respond to a local hospital or police department to make initial contact with participants or conduct phone outreach to self-referred participants. Recovery Specialists must maintain accurate records, adhere to all data collection protocol and participate in team meetings and supervision.

    Requirements: Applicants must have personal addiction experience, a minimum of 2 years' experience in recovery, and be willing to work toward certification as a NJ Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Stability of personal recovery, knowledge of the recovery process and strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills are required. Recovery Specialists must have a valid driver's license and independent mode of transportation. Recovery Specialists must also be approved to volunteer with Atlantic Health System/Newton Medical Center and comply with all requirements.
