SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic long term sub

  • Art teacher to join the Hudson Public Schools to cover a leave of absence starting around May 24 and continuing through the end of the school year (June 14, 2024)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSILBILITES:


  • Planning and implementing standardsbased lesson planning with clear objectives
  • Providing appropriate and effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of socioeconomic levels and cultural backgrounds
  • Using a variety of instructional strategies appropriate for teaching students from diverse backgrounds with different learning styles and needs
  • Designing and demonstrating differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Using a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress toward mastery of gradelevel standards and to modify further instruction
  • Assessing levels of student achievement effectively, analyze data, and prescribe actions for improvement
  • Providing a motivating and stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Adapting lessons for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students
  • Communicating orally and in writing with students, parents, and others
  • Working collaboratively and cooperatively with teachers in planning instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population of learners
  • Modeling effective teaching strategies and techniques
  • Participating in schoolwide professional development activities
  • Performing duties as requested by principals
  • Communicating high standards and expectations for all students

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred.
  • SEI Endorsement preferred
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

Terms of Employment:


  • 6.5 hours/day
- temporary employment
- $135/day for Unlicensed Teachers ($20.77/hour)
- $274.43/day for licensed Teachers ($42.22/hour)

  • Eligible for Benefits & Insurance after 90 days.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and use hand strength to grasp tools. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). _Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone._
