    Job Description

    A Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing new products for the aftermarket of-road industry.

    Using PTC Creo, you will model new designs and update current designs. Working hands-on with both the R&D and

    manufacturing teams, the Mechanical Design Engineer will manage each product from market research, design,

    prototype development, and creation.

    Responsibilities:


    • Use PTC Creo to model designs and develop drawings.


    • Create and detail 2D & 3D drawings for fabrication and assembly with assurance of proper fit and function.


    • Utilize and apply engineering disciplines and best practices to solve design problems.


    • Make drawings of all design parts and assemblies, checking dimension of parts, and materials to be used.


    • Lead design review meetings with both R&D and production team leaders.


    • Manage parts and assemblies across multiple projects at various stages of completion.


    • Assemble, install, and test prototype parts on test vehicles.


    • Maintain a working knowledge of current IRO products, new development products and engineering design

    processes.


    • Responsible to keep current of new technologies. Stay ahead of the competition by lending creative talent

    to the design and formulation of new product lines and enhancements.


    • Collaborate with Marketing and Company Management Teams to ensure that new and innovative products

    are available to IRO customers.


    • Work independently on large, assigned projects.

    Qualifications:


    • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another related

    engineering discipline.


    • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.


    • Experience in automotive related design is preferred.


    • 2+ years design and manufacturing experience.


    • Strong experience and knowledge level of a 3-D CAD program. PTC Creo/Pro-Engineer is preferred. Other

    programs such as Solid Works will be considered.


    • CAD design experience of sheet metal and tubing.


    • Ability to perform hands on installations and test fitments.


    • Prior work experience developing and supporting product and design support documentation.


    • Proficiency with written, verbal, presentation, and telephone communications skills.


    • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
