Description

As a Plumber Helper, you will assist with layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems according to specifications and code.

A day in the life:

Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and devices during installation
Perform minor maintenance on tools; clean tools as needed
Help set up tools and equipment; provide Foreman with necessary tools and supplies
Material handling as needed
Performs hand trenching or assists equipment operators with trenching
Backfills and tamps as directed by plumber/mechanic
Maintain a clean and safe work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
Cut materials and make subassemblies as directed

You should have:

Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
Ability to work accurately within precise limits or standards and evaluate information using measurable standards
Ability to work easily and skillfully with hands
Ability to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and be willing to work in a team environment
Ability to communicate and deal effectively with team leader and teammates
Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and remain calm when working toward deadlines
