- Operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
- Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on information from e m triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient's screening form.
- Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body.
- Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy.
- Ensures patient and staff safety at all-time by following proper screening protocoI, completing screening forms and changing the patient into proper attire. I
- Follows safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient's file.
- Prepare IV solutions sets and contrast agents for administration and assist radiologist and/or physician during administration. Prepare and administer contrast agents as ordered and as certified to administer.
- Manage stressful and emergency situations with a calm, rational demeanor.
- Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
- Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.

Job Description
Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin Community Hospital is currently seeking an MRI Technologist 1.
The incumbent performs intricate procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and assist in the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and Zap X Gyroscope Radiosurgery treatment planning.
Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment.Moreover, an employee in this position performs MRI imaging examinations to facilitate the ability of Neuro Radiologist and Neuro Surgeons find abnormalities and make a proper diagnosis.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program
Certification and Licensing:
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer. ARRT registered with ARRT MRI certification
Experience:
Minimum 1 years of relevant experience
