- Designing, and executing manual/automated tests
- Toubleshooting software anomalies, performing limited software configuration management activities (ex. make and deploy software builds)
- Monitoring and maintaining lab infrastructure
- Provide limited lab and production support, document QA processes, among other Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) activities.
- Part of your work will be manual testing at the user interface level. The software development cycle is hybrid, and you will often be required to help ferret out requirements (user stories) and design test cases for them.
- You must have 5 years of progressively responsible experience in software quality assurance, developing and executing test plans and test cases;
- 3 year's experience writing manual test cases for and testing desktop applications (ex. client), websites; and, experience suggesting and implementing QA process improvements.
- Experience creating and reviewing new test cases, test case execution and software defect management needed. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Notepad++, PuTTy, and Sharepoint.
- Automation experience; SQL, (especially MS-SQL experience); SharePoint and Linux (embedded) experience are all a strong plus. Azure DevOps (ADO) experience and UFT automation experience are also a plus.
- To be successful, you must have experience and the willingness to troubleshoot problems, including analyzing logs for errors and message flows. Experience working in (and enjoying) a medium documentation, high productivity team is a must.
- You must be willing to be a team player, working with and helping other team members, and seeking their knowledge and assistance as necessary.
- You must be a dynamic self-starter who can excel with limited direction.
- We are not looking for a tester who just wants to run manual or automated tests prepared by someone else.
- We need someone who can plan testing by engaging different stakeholders and development (including researching of requirements or other sources of information), properly design and execute tests, and report results, with and without additional staff support, to make the biggest improvement possible in software quality.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills are essential.
- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Candidates without such a degree but with extensive professional experience may be considered. Experience with configuration management (ex. Trunk/main, branches) is a plus.
