SUMMARY:


The Lead Emergency Department Technician/Emergency Department Supply Coordinator, working under the supervision of the Emergency Department Director, carries out tasks related to patient care delegated by the authority mentioned. All duties are performed following established policies and procedures.


_This is a full-time position._

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of supplies in the department.
  • Acts as a mentor to all techs and secretaries, offering expertise for communication and problemsolving.
  • Coordinates orientations for techs and secretaries with the ED Team Leader.
  • Conducts training sessions and provides competencies for techs and secretaries.
  • Orders and manages all supplies, including those for Emergency Preparedness, Pediatrics, EMS, and physician special orders.
  • Organizes and maintains Emergency Preparedness equipment.
  • Manages the staterequired IDPH disaster bags and ED quick response bags.
  • Ensures compliance with EDAP/TJC standards for supplies and equipment in the emergency department.
  • Assists with annual competency classes.
  • Performs routine procedures as an ED tech.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • EMT-B or Patient Care Tech certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years as an Emergency Dept Tech.
  • Must have teamwork skills, excellent customer service, high energy, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Illinois EMT-B or EMT-P License;
  • Phlebotomy and EKG certifications;
  • BLS Certification required prior to starting.
