DELI CUSTOMER SERVICE
Regular Full Time - $ /HR**
Shifts: Complete Open Availability - Weekends Required
Position Overview:
As a Deli Customer Service Clerk you will report to the Deli Manager and Assistant Deli manager. You will also perform all functions and duties related to the selling, display and organization of product.
You will be asked to have a general knowledge of all carried products as well as providing excellent customer service experience and answer all customer questions regarding the preparation and storage products to the best of your abilities.
Essential Functions:
- Provide and maintain excellent and quality service to customers
- Answer any questions about or explaining various cooking technique
- Explain to the customer the difference in products when necessary
- Follow established weights and measures procedures (tares)
- Setup prepared food displays
- Maintain overall appearance of and replenish ice in display case
- Use proper ration in case
- Package, weigh and price food
- Utilizing the slicer or other equipment to cut and prepare meat, cheese, etc.
- Stocking and ordering product
- Complete customers orders by making sandwiches, using the Panini press, preparing taqueria items, etc.
- Learn preparation of specialty items
- Aid in product and production preparation
- Participate in catering services
- Waste management
- May at times aid in unloading deliver orders
- Clean equipment, work areas as well as safe job areas (floors, counters, windows, worktables, slicer, etc.)So as to maintain standard of cleanliness
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- Great customer service skills
- Outgoing and engaging personality
- Basic knowledge of product with a desire to gain extensive product knowledge
- Basic knowledge of the English language (reading, writing and speaking)
- Basic knowledge and comprehension of cooking techniques and prepared foods
- Demonstrated ability in knife skills, other skills in cutting equipment handling and safety procedures
- Basic knowledge of measurements
- Ability to multitask
- A passion for food and a desire to learn how preparation of new items
- Conversational English skills required when working with customers.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
