PURPOSE:
The Injury Elimination Specialist will be an Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist responsible for providing services to OccuCare's early intervention customers.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provides services working one-on-one with an employee to determine the status of a potential musculoskeletal injury, collaborating with the employee and associated manager on ergonomic improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
The Injury Elimination Specialist will work within the OSHA First Aide Guidelines to minimize or eliminate the early signs and symptoms of work and at times, non-work related signs and symptoms.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
The Injury Elimination Specialist is responsible for:
- Working on-site at an employer
- Typically Monday
- Friday hours
- May include one or multiple days onsite at each employer for 48 hours per day
- Evaluating employee
- Determine severity of symptoms
- Document within OccuCare's early intervention software system.
- Report back to employer on severity and risk mitigation strategies.
- Review Employee work space
- From time to time, responsibilities may include an ergonomic analysis of work space.
- Report back to employer weekly on status of all employees within program.
- Travel
- On occasion the Injury Elimination Specialist may be required to travel to perform services for employers in other markets/territories
EXPERIENCE-SKILLS-EDUCATION: The employee shall have:
- Knowledge of general internet based technology or able to learn.
- The ability to work interdependently and under deadlines
- Ability to travel by car and airplane.
- Have the ability to understand industrial rehab concepts and programs
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to work with all levels of individuals with in an organization
- The individual shall be flexible and detailed oriented
- Individual shall have graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Athletic Training and have some experience associated with industrial rehabilitation

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually mínimal. Employee may be required to travel by automobile or airplane.Job Types:
