Summary of Position:


The IT Manager is responsible for leading a team of IT technicians who are responsible for first, second and third level support of all standard hardware and software throughout the organization.

This team provides effective diagnostic evaluation of end-user needs and in all cases uses good judgment and timeliness in responding to and resolving each issue to the customers' satisfaction.

This position entails the management of those individuals by providing clear vision and expectations, arranging schedules for coverage, budget planning, annual reviews including promotions and terminations, and participating in first hand technical problem solving.

This position will also participate in project tasks, will provide project support for engineering implementations and will work with the appropriate team for guidance and instruction.


Primary Job Responsibilities:


  • Manage a team of IT technicians who provide first and second level IT support throughout the organization.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Create appropriate policies and lead the team to follow them.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on processes and procedures.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Participate in the budget management process for IT.
  • Management of tickets in the ticketing systems.
  • Manage printer fleet by supporting users and contacting vendor support when needed.
  • Follow up with users to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Write processes and training documentation.
  • Train computer users as needed.
  • Maintain Active Directory user objects.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:


  • Proven experience in an IT management role.
  • Leadership skills with confidence to create policies and address process issues.
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office computing products, databases and remote control.
  • Good understanding of Windows based computer systems, Apple mobile devices and other tech products.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customeroriented and cooltempered.
  • Proficient usage and management of basic Active Directory.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Manage a team of IT technicians who provide first, second and third level IT support throughout the organization.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related field
  • Technical certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in one or more of the IT functions.

Travel Requirements:


  • Work is performed at a CIVI location M-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Friday.
  • Schedule: traditional 40hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel may be required to field office locations.
