SUMMARY:

The Baler Warehouse Technician is a versatile position which encompasses all tasks related to sorting, baling and shipping post-consumer carpet.


OVERALL GOALS

  • Efficient offloading of carpet and pad materials.
  • Accurate and efficient sortation by fiber type.
  • Timely bale creation and loading for shipment.
  • Follow all safety rules for the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist installers as they drop off carpet and pad for recycling.
  • Accurately use fiber ID guns to sort carpet by fiber type.
  • Operate baler safely and efficiently to create carpet and padding bales.
  • Operate forklift to move material around the yard and onto trucks for shipping.


  • Regular hours: Monday

  • Friday, 6:00am 4:00pm, Saturdays required: 6:00am 10:00am

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Customer service—greet and assist installer customers as they arrive to drop off material.
  • Dependability—keep up with the variety of volume and demands throughout the day.
  • Versatility able to fill a number of different roles.
  • Safety and security—observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions which are posted in English and Spanish.
  • Communication effectively and professionally conveys information internally and externally through verbal and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 13 years of experience working in a warehouse setting.
  • Working knowledge of light machinery operation.
