- Defines, designs and develops new communication system integration requirements
- Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs complex communication system specifications, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Specifically experienced in analyzing and resolving difficult and complicated satellite and terrestrial RF communications compatibility design issues.
- Coordinates design of communication systems interfaces and integration of total system for the customer utilizing GFE
- 6-8 years Satellite/RF communication system design and implementation experience with 4-5 years experience in military satellite communications
- Work with a broad range of internal teams/users to both recommend and help implement new hardware and software in a lab environment.
- Interact with development and test teams to coordinate system upgrades and test cycles.
- Develop drawings, User Guides, test plans, test procedures, rack elevations, pin-outs, cable connections, equipment maintenance manuals and other communications documentation.
- Work in a team environment.
- BS in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or equivalent experience, minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in support of DoD or other federal agency in a computer engineering capacity.
- Active TS or higher DoD Security Clearance or DOE equivalent
- Security + or DoD 8570 IAT Level II equivalent
- MS in computer science, computer engineering or information systems
- 8-10 years of experience in RF communication system design, development and integration of communication networks for fixed and mobile command & control centers.
