PROBATION:
All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
An Administrative Analyst I conduct management studies and analyses to improve workflow, simplify procedures, and to implement cost reductions. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from an administrative superior. Employees work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office setting where there are no uncomfortable conditions. Work requires mínimal physical exertion.
SELECTION PROCESS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE:
Have two years of experience in workflow analysis, procedures manual writing, or operational analysis.
OR
NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative analysis.
- Ability to develop administrative procedures and forms.
- Ability to conduct administrative and organizational studies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ability to collect, compile and analyze data.
- Ability to assemble information for and prepare reports.
- Ability to deal with City government personnel effectively.
- Ability to express ideas and abstract thoughts clearly both in written and oral form.
- Ability to interpret the administrative policies and procedures of Baltimore City government.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
NOTE:
Those eligibles who are under final consideration for appointment to some positions in this class will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information.
