JOB SUMMARY
Maintains the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators and all assigned areas of the property. Completion of special projects, as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

House Attendant 8 am-4:30 pm (Part time Days Vary)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to Company Core Values, Mission Statement and Ayres Way.
  • Cleans and maintains lobbies, guest corridors and assigned areas of the property.
  • Collect dirty linen from Room Attendant carts and deliver to the laundry for cleaning.
  • Supply clean linen to Room Attendants.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycled materials collected by Room Attendants and throughout the hotel.
  • Sweep and vacuum carpets.
  • Polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Make sofa beds upon guest's requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and restock all storage rooms with required linen and supplies.
  • Assist in the laundry room with washing/drying, folding, ironing, and stocking shelves of linen.
  • Assist in the property/guest room deep clean process and the movement/arrangement of furniture.
  • Follow the company Housekeeping Policy as stated in the Team Member Handbook.
  • Adhere to company Lost and Found policy and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Executive Housekeeper by completing a work order.
  • Perform duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Hotel Management Staff, which may include: Room Attendant, Laundry Attendant, and/or Public Areas Attendant duties.
  • Responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct self in a friendly and attentive manner during all guest encounters.
The Company adheres to all applicable wage and hour laws, including meal periods, rest periods and overtime. Refer to the team member handbook for detailed policy.

You are responsible ensuring that you do not knowingly violate any wage and hour policies and that you immediately report any violation by others.


Rest periods:
You are authorized and permitted to take paid rest periods.

The rest period is based on the total hours worked daily and must be at the minimum rate of a net ten consecutive minutes for each four-hour work period or major fraction thereof.

If you work an 8-hour shift, you are therefore entitled to two rest periods. It is your responsibility to schedule your own rest periods. The rest periods are required to be taken on the hotel premises. Authorized rest periods are counted as hours worked and are not deducted from wages. You are therefore not to clock out for rest periods. Rest periods cannot be combined together or with meal breaks.

At the end of each pay period, you will be asked to verify whether or not you have been provided your rest periods.

You are responsible for accurately recording all hours worked.

In the event you are contacted for hotel-related business while you are not at work, or handling company business on personal time (vacation), you must record and be paid for the amount of time you spent working on the business-related issues.

The Company reimburses team members for reasonable and necessary expenses in accordance with the hotel's expense reimbursement policy. Refer to the team member handbook for details.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of, writing, reading & speaking the English language is helpful.
  • Physical requirements:
  • Long hours are sometimes required.


  • Heavy work

  • Exerting up to 35 pounds of measured pull/push weight force periodically while lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and otherwise moving objects and/or 66 pounds of measured pull/push weight force occasionally for the (movement of furniture only).
