    Description
    A global logistics company seeks an Attorney for the role of Director, Insurance & Claims. In this role you will oversee third-party liability claims for North and South America, managing a team of 8 individuals. Role is hybrid with 3 days in office/week in Atlanta. 20% of time will be spent traveling internationally to South America and Europe. Role requires extensive experience with Protection & Indemnity (P&I) claims and maritime law. A law degree is strongly preferred. Position includes a base salary of $165-175K, 2 annual bonuses (up to 41% of base) and excellent benefits including a retirement plan (in addition to a 401K) with an employer paid 6% of salary contribution.

    Responsibilities
    • Management of the department work and the sourcing, development and supervision of the staff
    • Supervision of particularly complex / expensive / politically relevant third-party liability claims (i.e. cargo, personal injuries) and projects assigned to the department (i.e. contract review and / or reefer matters and / or (local) insurance placement, etc.).
    • Monitoring / analyzing risks with view to future loss prevention
    • Creating / improving loss prevention procedures
    • Creating / improving intradepartmental processes / lines of communication
    • Establishing interdepartmental processes
    • Establishing the net of external service providers
    • Review, analyze and negotiate customer service and vendor contracts in terms of liability.
