Job Description and Responsibilities:


Multidisciplinary wellness office looking for talented Biller & Coder to join our team. Professional yet friendly work environment.

Billing and Coding:

Review Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, & Acupuncture treatment documentation and accurately assign appropriate billing codes (CPT, ICD-10) to procedures and diagnoses.

Verify that all services provided are coded and billed correctly, maximizing reimbursement while adhering to industry regulations and guidelines.
Update codes and billing practices in line with any changes in regulations.


Claims Submission:
Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
Monitor and ensure timely submission of claims to avoid delays in payment.
Address any claim rejections or denials, correcting errors and resubmitting claims as needed.


Insurance Verification:
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients prior to providing chiropractic services.
Communicate with insurance companies to confirm patient benefits and coverage details.


Patient Billing:
Generate and send patient statements for services rendered, detailing the costs and insurance coverage.
Assist patients in understanding their bills, insurance coverage, and payment options.
Follow up with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.


Collections:
Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or overdue invoices.
Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances, resolving any billing disputes or concerns.
Implement collection procedures in compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.


Communication:
Maintain clear and professional communication with insurance companies, patients, and other relevant parties. Review insurance benefits with patients.
Address inquiries related to billing, insurance claims, and payment options.


Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and organized records of all billing and collection activities.
Document interactions with insurance companies, patients, and any actions taken to resolve billing issues.


Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with changes in medical billing codes, insurance regulations, and industry best practices.
Ensure all billing and collections processes adhere to legal and ethical guidelines.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field is a plus).
  • Previous experience in medical billing and collections, preferably in a chiropractic or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD10) and billing software.
  • Strong understanding of insurance procedures, including claim submission and reimbursement processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detailoriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and manage priorities.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to healthcare billing and privacy (HIPAA).
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
