Job Summary:

The Supervisor will make sure that all warehouse operations are profitable and successful.

You will be responsible for leading, developing, and engaging a team of exceptional talent that makes innovation possible; one of your main focuses will be motivating, mentoring, and coaching your team to execute with excellence while working safe.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
  • Complete forklift job training knowledge and uses a forklift as necessary within the service center.
  • Monitor and evaluate the safety of each employee on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and evaluate the safe and efficient loading and unloading process of freight throughout the shift.
  • Supporting all safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and managers.
  • Acting as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency, and taking corrective action when needed
  • Mentoring, training, and developing teammates for career progression, performance improvement, and recognition purposes.
  • Hires and trains new warehouse employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with dispatch operations.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded in the most efficient manner while maximizing bills loaded per trailer.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch as needed to optimize trailer loading.
  • Completes all required management reports.
  • Executes maintenance activities when needed.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees
  • Keep uptodate on the latest federal and state safety regulations
  • Evaluating performance objectives and metrics to determine inbound or outbound productivity requirements to achieve customer time, accuracy, and quality expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate safety procedures in accordance with company, OSAH, and DOT guidelines.
  • Develop and implement action plans to ensure the service center achieves planned productivity, load average, and service targets.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, hours may vary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures and of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • You take ownership in your work and team.
  • You are available to work overtime during peak season and as needed yearround.
  • You are obsessed with customer experience and understand the importance of a 24/7 operations.
  • You are flexible to work on any type of assigned shift (nights, weekends, etc.).
