JOB OVERVIEW:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Understanding of & teaching warehouse operations policy, process and procedure through actions and verbal reinforcement. Train and give feedback to peers of the correct procedures and reports non-compliance.
  • Prepare ahead to ensure items are ready for the next shift. Take ownership over warehouse demands and works the necessary hours to meet company goals.
  • Responsible for backup duties for direct supervisor/manager when necessary.
  • Maintaining and updating documents and spreadsheets.
  • Preparing, organizing, and checking orders against shipping paperwork to ensure order accuracy including identifying errors, issues & discrepancies.
  • Reports issues with safety, quality, operational procedures, or HR concerns appropriately to the person in charge for immediate concerns and logging instances in software systems. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitating efficient and accurate interface with freight carriers' drivers (including driver check in, designating dock door, and assigning workload to a warehouse team member).
  • Helping the Shipping, Receiving, and Sampling Team with workload during peak periods.
  • Other duties as requested, including administrative functions.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 years of Warehouse/Office experience or similar / related / relevant experience
  • Relevant Mobile Equipment Certification may include but is not limited to: reach truck, scissor lift, mule, stand up lift, sitdown forklift.
  • Experience with UPS and FedEx online shipping programs and portals
  • Above average computer skills
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bilingual (preferred but not required)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in fastpaced, deadlineoriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff.
  • Must be able to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with coworkers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to development suggestions from their Manager.
  • Receptive to management development suggestions and willing to seek additional knowledge to facilitate job growth.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Count items and report weights accurately. This position requires the employee to count, track, and make adjustments to inventory in a work area.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or Equivalent


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing, walking, using hands and arms to feel and reach.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and ramps.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Regularly or routinely lifting or handling boxes/bags/equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Regularly pushing or pulling sizeable equipment from a standing position.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of personal protective equipment including respirators, hearing protection, eye protection, and head protection.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work in a dusty, cold, hot, humid, wet, loud, or outdoor work environment depending on the assigned work area.
  • Primarily works in a production environment with mínimal administrative duties.
