    Summary:


    The Senior Program Manager - Patient Access Support Services - ZEPOSIA (Senior PM) will play a key role in the management of our Patient Access & Support Services (PASS) across the BMS portfolio with a primary focus on ZEPOSIA patient support programs.

    This individual will work closely with hub vendors to monitor activities for quality and consistency. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the day-to-day interactions that support patient access to medications and treatment. This person will be responsible for leading the launch and management of complex or high-volume programs.

    The Senior PM will respond to and resolve escalated customer issues and serve as a resource for PMs, internal matrix partners, and external vendors.

    The Senior PM manages the creation of reimbursement materials and validates that they meet compliance requirements and legal approval process using internal content management platforms.

    The Senior PM will incorporate a patient-centric approach in their commitment to help minimize reimbursement and access barriers for BMS patients.


    Responsibilities:

    • Leads operational and program management for assigned brand(s)
    • Lead the development of supporting materials for execution of strategies and initiatives in support of programs (e.g., brochures, training materials, program updates, organization messaging, etc.)
    • Act as a subject matter expert on the reimbursement and access landscape
    • Educate matrix partners about BMS programs, policies, procedures, and resources for ZEPOSIA
    • Mentor and support Program Managers' development of knowledge and skills
    • Collaborate with BMS Access Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) and PASS leadership on individual case management or program needs
    • Collaborate with BMS cross-functional team members to resolve access and reimbursement issues
    • Coordinate services between the patient support hub, specialty pharmacies, Centers of Excellence, and other key community accounts
    • Use data and analytical dashboards to identify and act on patient access and program performance trends
    • Collaborate with copay team and manage GTN and budgeting for copay programs for assigned brand(s)
    • Support programs (independently or with a matrix team) by performing industry benchmarking, stakeholder analysis and market research, and patient and provider surveys to ensure BMS is launching and operating successful programs
    • Respond to and resolve broader and more complex escalated issues
    • Collaborate with matrix partners to create and implement vendor contracts; monitor and manage vendor contracts and annual program budgets
    • Any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values

    Program Excellence:

    • Actively collaborates across VAP to ensure aligned patient access strategy (i.e., identifies and addresses current and anticipated gaps while making changes to tactics, tools and communications as needed)
    • Supports a new brand or indication launch by leading the development of program Business Rules, processes, materials, and hub, vendor, and field team training
    • Develops program launch execution plan as part of launch master planning with PASS, internal matrix teams (i.e., Brand), and external vendors
    • Tracks and holds vendors accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined in contracts
    • Communicates with field and office teams about program changes, with a focus on potential impact on customer and patient access experience
    • Collaborates with leadership, PASS teammates, and matrix teams to create the program strategy and share opportunities to optimize the approach
    • Uses subject matter expertise about the patient journey (e.g., therapeutic area, brand, indication, etc.) to identify common barriers to access and develop an approach for mitigating
    • Uses Market Access technical expertise (i.e., coding, reimbursement and payer polices related to Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and private insurance) to educate matrix partners and vendors
    • Manages hub relations and activities (e.g., complex ways of working, start forms, patient contact, escalations, denials, coding, training, business reviews, staffing updates, program claims, invoices, and activity monitoring)
    • Manages relationships, activities, and budgets for Agency of Record (e.g., materials development, printing, invoices, etc.)
    • Leads annual reverification process

    Communication & Education:

    • Educates hubs on availability of generics, loss of exclusivity, new indications, change of label, policy changes, etc.
    • Trains hubs to complete approval and reimbursement forms for relevant brands
    • Supports the creation of action-oriented training materials for large meetings
    • Creates and delivers engaging, effective training for internal (matrix and field teams) and external stakeholders on a variety of topics (e.g., patient journey, start forms, access programs, disease state)
    • Models excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communications and presentation skills; provides feedback to others
    • Maintains clear, tailored, consistent, and concise communication across all stakeholders, methods, and platforms
    • Navigates difficult conversations while maintaining credibility and building relationships; escalates when needed

    Business and Industry Acumen:

    • Identifies marketplace trends in the field that could apply across brands, and shares trend insights across brands to improve visibility and problem solve
    • Continues to develop expertise in patient access stakeholders, patient affordability, out-of-pocket costs, pharmacy benefits, payer influences and different business and reimbursement models
    • Maintains excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Demonstrates deep knowledge in insurance benefit design for both commercial and government payers

    Analytics:

    • Reviews robust data analytics insights to continuously improve Business Rules and hub processes
    • Identifies program trends and shares relevant insights with external vendor partners (as appropriate), internal matrix teams and leadership
    • Proactively acts when programs are trending toward or away from Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Seeks out both quantitative and qualitative data (e.g., program feedback, program data) from a variety of sources
    • Collaborates with data analytics team to identify data outputs and build dashboards needed for monitoring program performance, anticipating high demand, and proactively mitigating potential problem areas

    Compliance:

    • Stays up to date and compliant with BMS compliance policy guidance, rules of engagement and Business Rules in general, with specific relevance to disease states

    Organizational Navigation:

    • Leads matrix teams and hubs to identify reimbursement issues and ensure consistency with coding, coverage, and payment with payers
    • Considers both headquarter and field culture, individual ways of working, business goals, processes and resources when collaborating
    • Builds and maintains relationships among PASS teammates and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Access Marketing, Brand, Trade, etc.) throughout the organization
    • Identifies and acts on opportunities for improvements in the hub processes, ways of working, team dynamics, program effectiveness, etc.

    Leadership of Self and Others:

    • Coaches and mentors peers to improve their PASS-related knowledge, skill, and operational efficiency
    • Confidently leads without authority
    • Demonstrates flexibility when participating in team or group efforts
    • Sets and shares reasonable expectations when delegating responsibilities

    Strategic Vision & Culture:

    • Implements key elements of the PASS strategic vision and provides useful feedback on real-world application
    • Communicates accurate and comprehensive insights aligned to the strategic PASS vision
    • Demonstrates BMS Values and culture in day-to-day tasks and interactions

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; advanced degree (MBA, MA Public Health, PharmD, etc.) preferred
    • 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including 2+ years in patient services preferred
    • Relevant experience in claims reimbursement required, including billing and coding; managed care coverage processes and practices; distribution and dispensing of specialty pharmaceuticals; buy and bill models; and relevant aspects of patient support and/or hub services
    • Experience in managing complex projects or programs required
    • Direct report management experience preferred
