Hybrid work in Providence, RI

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all areas of the accounting function and the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements at month-end, quarter end and year end.
NON FOR PROFIT 501C (4)
HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE
Designs and implements effective financial and business reporting on an ongoing basis for the purpose of better management of the business.
Prepares annual operating plan and financial forecasts, which include income statements, balance sheets and cash flows for parent company and all subsidiaries.
Directs the annual audit with the external audit firm and all other financial audits performed by RI DBR, Mass DOI, etc.
Responsible for cash management including the timely investment of funds in appropriate financial instruments in accordance with the company investment policy.
Responsible for management of business insurance in conjunction with the Company's outside legal counsel.
Responsible for tax planning and the timely filing of all required tax returns.
Provide Management with assistance in other areas as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

7-10 years experience of progressively increasing responsibility in the area of accounting or auditing is required Insurance industry experience is preferred
CPA, MS in Accounting, MBA or equivalent required with demonstrated experience in technical accounting issues and practices from both a GAAP and SAAP point of view.
Prior supervision or direction of subordinates is required.
Proven demonstration of integrity, confidentiality and flexibility.
Demonstrated interpersonal and effective communication skills are essential.
Knowledge of computerized financial accounting systems and internal systems control environments.
