Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental xrays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care
- Perform patient assessments and record medical histories
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records using Epic or similar software
- Assist with medical coding and documentation
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Provide support to the front desk staff as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- Xray certification required
- Experience working in a pediatric dental setting preferred
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record software
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
Note:
CAD experience is not relevant to the duties or qualifications of a Dental Assistant.
