Analyzes survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and other topographic or geologic data to plan projects
Reviews highway and road designs and site plans for compliance with construction, zoning, land use and engineering standards
Computes load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications
Evaluates soil tests and materials to determine adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt or steel
Inspects project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards
Confers with contractors and vendors to direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site
Calculates estimates of quantities and cost of materials, equipment and labor to determine project feasibility
