Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
- Implement acquisition skills, maintenance skills and behavioral plan developed by the BCBA.
- Collect data accurately.
- Run skill acquisition programs with clients using Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal behavior.
- Follow and complete all programs as directed by the BCBA.
- Write daily notes at the end of each session.
- Attend training as requested.
- Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner
- Objectively analyze crisis situations.
- Able to deescalate and handle problem behaviors.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively and make recommendations to BCBA.
- Work with a diverse team of professionals in a respectful manner.
- Maintain professional communication skills with clients and clients' loved ones.
- Coordinate with parents scheduling inhome sessions.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Using computer software related programs.
- Read and adhere by DevelopMeant's policy and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and implement behavior intervention plans effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals with special needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Skills:
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Familiarity with data collection methods and behavior tracking software
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to think on your feet
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients
