    Job Description

    MERIT BRASS is hiring for a CNC Operator I position on the 3rd Shift. With over 80 years of history as a family-owned business, we provide competitive pay, attractive benefits, a 401K Plan, and a positive work environment. The initial pay rate is $17.50 per hour, along with shift premiums. Additionally, new hires qualify for a $200.00 signing bonus.

    Work Hours:

    • 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday) from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct in-process inspections of cut-blanks, stamped, and threaded nipples as per specifications throughout the manufacturing phases
    • Perform initial piece inspections and approve manufacturing setups
    • Conduct final inspections of washed nipples based on documented procedures
    • Regularly communicate any necessary adjustments to manufacturing supervisors in a timely manner
    • Inspect, measure, and document special orders (when required) before packaging
    • Inspect Merit purchased products following defined criteria and measurements using standard gauges
    • Maintain accurate documentation of traceability information, inspection results, and testing outcomes

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred but not mandatory
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing or inspecting precision machined parts with tight tolerances
    • Proficiency in reading micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc., and identifying small imperfections/ surface flaws
    • Basic computer literacy and math skills (addition/subtraction, fractions, decimals, etc.)
    • Ability to interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensions & Tolerance information
    • Capable of standing/bending throughout the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously and 70 lbs. occasionally, and handling order carts weighing up to 150 lbs.
    • Moving and lifting full-length pipes ranging from 12 to 24 feet
