    Position Overview

    Apollo Global Management's AASP Risk team serves as the sole risk manager of ATLAS SP Partners, and manages the securitized products and structured finance assets sourced and serviced by ATLAS SP Partners while serving as their sole risk manager. ATLAS was created out of Credit Suisse's Securitized Products Group, a top provider of credit solutions to lenders, and provides financing across three business segments:
    • Residential Real Estate
    • Commercial Real Estate
    • Consumer & Commercial (C&C)
    The AASP Risk team is responsible for measuring and monitoring all risks that arise from ATLAS's business, including credit, market and operational, as well as other, risks. Risk management activities include conducting both asset level and counterparty level credit reviews across all collateral types, estimating the market impact of any potential collateral liquidations and measuring risk exposures against pre-defined limits.

    The Role

    The AASP Risk team is seeking a Risk Analyst to join their growing team and directly support the entire risk management organization. In this role, the Analyst/Associate will have the unique opportunity to gain experience across all risk disciplines (credit risk, market risk, counterparty risk, risk analytics, and operational risk) and initiatives while learning specific asset classes including residential real estate, commercial real estate, and C&C.

    The Analyst should be driven and eager to learn with the ability to thrive both independently and in a collaborative team setting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional Excel skills as well as quantitative academic training (STEM or similar degree), have some risk management experience, and experience or interest in the financial services industry.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Support the Risk organization across all aspects of risk management, including:
    • Credit risk reviews of potential clients and transactions
    • Analysis into the viability of potential counterparties and clients
    • Review of outright and contingent market risks to ATLAS's business
    • Support for operational risk controls
    • Other efforts necessary for holistic risk management
    • Assist in key risk initiatives and infrastructure projects including the development and distribution of new risk reports, ongoing credit reviews and necessary technology initiatives to support risk management
    • Analyze the credit worthiness of individual transactions and material counterparties
    • Support analysis into the potential volatility of collateral across residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, and other consumer and commercial loans, with a focus on sensitivity to changes in interest rates, spreads, prepayments and defaults
    • Support the identification, quantification, control and remediation of operational risk
    • Assist efforts in risk measurement and support the process of introducing risk limits as needed
    • Assist with market and other ad hoc analyses
    Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 1-7 years of ABS Risk (Credit preferred) experience within Financial Services or Rating Agencies dealing with ABS asset classes (Note: internships are not considered)
    • Experience in Credit Risk, ABS rating agency, or practical hands-on securitization cashflow modeling required
    • Experience with ratings methodologies within risk and/or experience at a ratings agency (or similar) function highly preferred
    • Strong Excel skills and technical financial modeling skills required
    • Experience with or understanding SQL databases and programming languages such as Python or R a strong plus
    • Robust analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
    • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
    • Exceptional level of personal responsibility, attention to details, appropriate initiative and self-management

    Pay Range
    125,000-150,000

    The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
