The Relationship Manager is responsible for driving loan originations by managing the sales cycle and the workflow between the Sales, Underwriting, Construction and Operations teams to help convert both lending and client opportunities into funded loans.

The Relationship Manager will play an integral part in building strong ties with clients to ensure continued production growth and increased wallet share with Reliant borrowers.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other Reliant divisions including Credit, Operations, Construction and Valuations to create, enhance and facilitate a seamless process and an excellent customer experience initially and continuously throughout the relationship.
  • Oversee the client onboarding process designed to introduce clients to the Reliant team, our process and to set appropriate expectations for loan approval and closing.
  • Manage the workflow between Credit, Underwriting, Construction and Operations to close loans on schedule.
  • Lead periodic team huddles to actively manage opportunities in Sale POD pipeline, ensuring client and property information is received in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in the effective communication of the Reliant value proposition to existing and prospective borrowers.
  • Work directly with Loan Officers and Credit on loan/deal analysis, structuring, packaging, pricing, and borrower approval. Structure all loans for existing borrowers.
  • Assist the Loan Officer in presenting new loan opportunities and borrower approval packages, as applicable, to the appropriate approval authority and/or attend Credit Review with the Sales team.
  • Understand individual loan portfolio and assist with portfolio issues/tasks that need to be completed to maintain proper portfolio performance.
  • Manage the collection of client financial reports, oversee project status updates, follow up on postclosing conditions, prepare loan extensions and modifications requests, coordinate covenant compliance, monitor client exposure limits and facilitate annual renewals.
  • Followup with clients, when required, on assuring loan payments are received when due by monitoring interest reserves, servicing reports and when directed by Credit.
  • Participate in relevant networking activities such as trade shows and industry conferences, as needed.
  • Perform other functions and assist with other projects as assigned by Sales or Credit/Risk Management.

  • Minimum 5 years in commercial real estate/construction lending, underwriting or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain a California Real estate license is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in sales environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and relationship management capabilities, as well as a high level of attention to detail
