Description

We are looking for EXPERIENCED Service Writer to provide technical and mechanical advice on our products, as well as to write technical manuals and technical documentation.

You will work closely with our Service Technicians to provide guidance on repairs and preventative maintenance.

As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide technical and mechanical advice on our products
  • Provide guidance on preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Write technical documentation and manuals
  • Assist with product improvement projects
  • Communicate with customers to answer questions, provide recommendations, and provide customer service
  • Write estimates, invoices, and other reports
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., lubrication, cleaning, replacing parts)
  • Keep accurate records and logs of work performed
  • Keep tools clean and organized for easy use
  • Maintain work area by cleaning; sweeping; mopping; dusting; organizing shelves, shelves; cleaning windows; etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g., repair estimates, inventory, purchase orders, etc.)


The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index rating at an acceptable level.
  • Ensure that all documents are accounted for.
  • Accomplish the forecast that has been established by the dealership management team.
  • Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner.
  • Schedule appointments
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data.
  • Test drive the vehicle.
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, using maintenance menus.
  • Identify the prime service and verify service needs with the customer.
  • Indicate on repair order the exact repair instructions.
  • Provide estimates of labor and parts.
  • Obtain customer's signature on repair order and method of payment.
  • Followup progress of each repair during the day. Maintain an open line of communication with the customer regarding the status of their vehicle.
  • Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in progress or appointments.
  • Be responsible for Quality Control; do everything possible to ensure that the vehicle is fixed right the first time.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; automotive training a plus.
  • One (1) year in a dealership position preferred.
  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Valid instate Driver's License and clean driving record.
