We are looking for a FSQA Lead to join our growing Quality team. This person will be responsible for daily compliance with food safety and quality standards throughout production.

This individual supports the FSQA Techs by performing backup coverage for their assessments and evaluations when needed, but they also provide guidance and leadership whenever food safety or quality concerns arise.

This individual also supports operations through assessment and evaluation of Quality data to drive operational improvements.

This role will be based out of our Burr Ridge production facility 5 days/week.


About the role:

Food Safety and Quality Assessments: Continually evaluate products and equipment to ensure compliance with DG and regulatory standards. Supports the performance of quality risk assessments to determine disposition of products and equipment in a timely manner

Lead Quality Investigations: Provide guidance and direction during the response to any food safety or Quality concern during production, ensure all responses are detailed and data driven

DG Processes Confirmation/Verification:Provide compliance expertise. Ensure Quality and Food Safety processes are being followed across the production floor

Supports FSQA tech team/Quality checks: Be the backup for floor coverage when needed to minimize production delays to meet the 15 min response time or less for all Quality requests. Ensure Quality representation at production huddles. Ensure the training of FSQA techs to new policies, programs and processes. Coaching and mentoring new members of the team to best practices

Supports Revision and Verification of Documentation: Review daily production documentation to verify that is appropriately complete. Archive revised production documentation by date for easy access when needed. Review and Verify Quality checks in Trace Gains within 48 hours


Experience & Skills we value:


  • Proven 3+ years of experience in Quality related roles within the food industry
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and Quality standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis. SOP' GMP, SSOP experience

Nice to have and/or you'll learn:

  • HACCP and PCQI certification
  • Familiar with CI tools such as root cause analysis, 5 WHYs, Post-Mortems, MOC
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and Supplier Quality
