Assistant Vice President, Above the Line Marketing

As a Barclays Assistant Vice President, Above the Line (ATL) Marketing you'll be developing channel strategies for key retail and travel/affinity credit card programs (Retail & TAP) to drive product awareness and consideration in support of new account goals.

You'll account for all aspects of the marketing campaigns within the segment.

This is your chance to take part in developing media plans and marketing/ ad assets that leverage multiple ad formats, including In Store, Out of Home, Television, Audio, Print and Experiential/Activations.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing and executing marketing campaign strategies that utilize multiple advertising formats (In Store Signage, TV, Audio, OOH, etc.) and/or Experiences/ Activations
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage retail/in store advertising or other partner assets to support the facetoface marketing channel at the Point of Sale; managing budget
  • Interacting and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand program goals/objectives
  • Creating and executing against channel strategies, recommendations, and tactics designed to meet the objectives
  • Collaborating with media agencies, suppliers and partners to develop and flawlessly deliver against media plans
  • Influencing the campaign creative development process, working with internal Center for Creative Excellence to develop impactful marketing creative that satisfies objectives
  • Leveraging competitive intelligence and staying apprised of new capabilities and opportunities in order to test and roll out innovative and competitive campaigns
  • Collaborating with external vendors as well as Strategic Analytics and Marketing Research teams to develop methodology for measuring effectiveness of AbovetheLine Campaigns

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's Degree (Business related field, preferably marketing)
  • Over five years of business experience, preferably in financially oriented consumer market
  • Solid oral and written communication skills and relationship management skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Proven track record of Above-the-Line Marketing or Partner management and channel management; experience and solid eye for Above-the-Line creative execution
  • Experience working with media agencies and selecting media placements
  • Knowledge of measurement methodologies applicable to AbovetheLine Marketing
  • Detail oriented and able to multitask in a fastpaced environment, problemsolve, manage to timelines and work well in crossfunctional teams
