GENERAL POSITION SUMMA RY

This position is responsible for aiding in the organization, coordination and supervision of the preparation of Club Events spaces for the Club's private dining room(s) and private events.


Under the supervision of the Service Director the Houseman assists in coordinating and evaluating the setup of each event and participates in accordance with the Club standards at high volume levels, event specifications and production schedules.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Comply at all times with Petroleum Club of Houston standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient club operations.
  • Ensure the correct and timely set up of all Banquet Event Order functions.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the banquet function space prefunction space and storage areas to include the carpets walls walks windows and heating/air conditioning units, ice machines, etc.
  • Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and organized manner stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for meetings or food service functions.
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher location and follow all hotel safety rules.
  • Breakdown after the completion of functions and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly.
  • Notify management of any hazards.
  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Make rounds through the halls each shift to ensure public areas are clean and tidy, taking care to remove or replace anything out of order.
  • Coordinate and help housekeeping with heavy lifting and priority requests.
  • Use your watchfulness to report missing or found articles and any sign of damage or needed repair.
  • Be graciously attentive to guests, answering questions and getting additional help when it's needed.

  • Independent mobility through Club.
  • The ability to use one's abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
  • The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
  • The ability to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the body is in motion.
  • The ability to exert one's self physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
  • Ability to work in multiple temperature variances for long periods of time, including freezing temperatures and extreme heat conditions.
  • The ability to keep or regain one's body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
