- Manage all aspects of the used car department, from inventory and pricing to sales and reconditioning
- Devise and execute strategies to boost sales and enhance profitability
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with wholesalers, auctions, and other channels for acquiring used car inventory
- Ensure proper merchandising and presentation of vehicles on our lot
- Competitively price vehicles and stay abreast of market trends for timely adjustments
- Supervise the reconditioning process to ensure vehicles are sales-ready
- Lead and train a team of salespeople to meet and exceed sales targets
- Collaborate with the finance department to secure financing and facilitate the sales process
- Uphold high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service during sales transactions
- Keep updated on industry trends, new Mazda products, and features
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient customer buying experience
- Maintain a professional and tidy work environment consistently
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus
- At least 3 years of experience as a Used Car Manager in the auto industry
- Demonstrated success in managing a used car department and achieving sales objectives
- Strong leadership qualities with the skills to inspire and train a team effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and evenings if required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
