    This role is

    Hybrid , based out of

    Austin, TX


    As a leader in the CPU design team, you will collaborate with various functional technical teams to develop CPU products that meet the business requirements.

    The ideal candidate will build and lead a design team to create CPU products that span a spectrum of design points and end markets.


    Responsibilities:
    Technical leadership and management for a high performance OoO CPU design
    Drive technical decisions and be responsible for the delivery of a CPU and its variants from microarchitecture through customer delivery
    Create microarchitectural specifications and RTL implementation plans for functionality, timing, power and performance
    Engage with CPU technical teams including architecture, design, verification, software, and platforms. Collaborate with business teams on feature and product definition
    Engage with customers as required to understand detailed technical requirements
    Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems as appropriate



    Experience & Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Science degree in EE/ECE/CE/CS or related field required; MS or PhD highly desired
    Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture and micro-architecture including hands on expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    Instruction fetch and decode, branch prediction
    Out-of-order execution
    Datapath
    Memory subsystem, caches
    Familiar with protocols such as CHI, AXI, CMN
    Expertise in RTL design and converging high performance designs for performance, power, area and frequency
    Knowledge of logic design principles along with timing and power implications
    Knowledge of and experience with project tracking methodologies and techniques
    Experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools
    10+ years' work experience in high performance, complex CPU design

    Preferred

    Experience & Qualifications:
    Experience with designing and implementing a CPU based on RISCV or any other major ISA
    Experience in designing and delivering CPU IP
    Experience with hardware multithreading, virtualization, multi-cluster, and vector designs
    Understanding of low power microarchitecture techniques

    Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
