The Random House marketing department is currently seeking a Marketing Assistant to join the Random House Worlds and Del Rey team.
Reporting to the Random House Worlds Senior Marketing Manager and the Del Rey Marketing Manager, this position is an opportunity to join the world's foremost publisher of fantasy, science fiction, and horror.
Del Rey is proud to publish a long list of bestselling authors, including Katherine Arden, Terry Brooks, Pierce Brown, Wesley Chu, Cassandra Clare, Heather Fawcett, Micaiah Johnson, Josh Malerman, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and Naomi Novik.
Random House Worlds proudly publishes a long and growing list of titles from bestselling brands, including Star Wars, Minecraft, Stranger Things, Dungeons & Dragons, Critical Role, and more.
We are a highly collaborative team who love to bring our authentic style of nerdery to our favorite fictional worlds.
The Role:
- Provide general administrative support, including mailings, giveaways, processing invoices, expense reports, etc.
- Submit and route creative materials to licensor portals for review
- Update brandspecific website landing pages
- Manage digital galley approvals and outreach for assigned titles
- Communicate between the marketing, publicity, editorial, publishing, creative services, and production departments
The Essentials:
- A passion for pop culture and a variety of book genres including fantasy, science fiction, romance, romantasy, and/or horror
- A selfstarter fluent in multitasking with impeccable attention to detail
- A deadlineoriented administrator who is comfortable handling many projects at once
- An excellent written and verbal communicator who is enthusiastic about collaborating with authors, agents, media professionals, and external and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced, collaborative team environment and possesses a proactive and independent approach to problemsolving
- Savvy with social media and keeps up with the news cycle and emerging trends
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and enjoys mastering new systems and databases
- Experience in marketing, publicity, or publishing is a plus but not required to succeed in this role—we value an organized and passionate team player with a strong interest in book marketing
- Comfortable with handling and being discreet with confidential information
