    • Vital is looking for a passionate backend engineer to join us on our mission to revolutionise how healthcare is delivered today.
    • Vital is an API for at-home health data, and we are making it easy for developers to build virtual-first healthcare apps on top of our platform. We have built a wearables API and at-home test kit API and our current docs can be found at .
    • We are a seed-funded startup backed by some of the best investors like Y Combinator.
    • This is a fully remote position. However, you must be able to provide
    at least 4 hours of business overlap with GMT . We are not offering any visa sponsorships at this time.
    Some of the early challenges you could be working on:

    Building a scalable fault-tolerant backend that can handle large amounts of data and the complexity of 50+ 3rd party API integrations.

    We are at roughly 100 requests / second with more than half a million users generating data.
    Building direct integrations to wearable devices and at-home remote patient monitoring devices.

    Python(Fast API), Typescript, React, React Native, Swift, GCP.
    You'll be a good fit if...
    You like to wear many hats. We are a small team, with a lot of things yet to be figured out. You are comfortable operating in such an environment.
    You are comfortable with owning features and being the driving force behind them. We don't have Product Managers. Engineers are responsible for managing their work.
    You care about the outcomes, rather than outputs.
    Requirements
    Highly proficient with Python. You have 2 to 3 years of professional experience using Python. You likely know other languages.
    Proficient with Postgres.
    Experience working with data-intensive backends.
    Have good communication skills. You will interact with customers directly and on a daily basis.
    Nice to have
    Experienced with GCP
    Experience working in fast paced environments.
