    Description

    Process Improvement Engineer at a Leading Manufacturing Company



    The Process Improvement Engineer role involves driving continuous improvement projects within the manufacturing plant. They utilize proven continuous improvement production principles to lead impactful projects that enhance Safety, increase Employee Engagement, boost Delivery, decrease Costs, and optimize plant Capacity. This position collaborates closely with the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager, plant leadership, and the Plant Controller to pinpoint and execute these projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead plantwide initiatives focusing on Safety, Employee Engagement, Delivery, Cost, and Capacity improvements
    • Collaborate with CI Manager and plant leadership to identify projects and provide regular updates
    • Show a commitment to ongoing savings, participate in reviews with plant and company leadership
    • Show expertise in continuous improvement tools/methodologies, educate and support team members
    • Engage in daily accountability processes and demonstrate leadership through Gemba walks
    • Work closely with plant leaders to share best practices and support corporate initiatives
    • Provide coverage for the CI Manager when needed

    Qualifications and Skills:

    To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum three years of manufacturing experience
    • Formal training in Lean and Six Sigma, preferred with at least 3 years of experience

    • Detailed problem-solving skills and experience leading MOS implementations

    Language and Mathematics Skills:

    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents
    • Effective communication with various stakeholders
    • Report writing and bilingual skills preferred
    • Advanced mathematical capabilities

    Reasoning Abilities and Certifications:

    • Strong logical thinking skills for complex problem-solving
    • Ability to define and address a range of problems
    • Interpretation of technical instructions and diverse data
    • Lean and Six Sigma certifications are advantageous

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    The role involves standing, using hands, reaching, stooping, and occasional lifting. Vision abilities and work environment requirements are detailed. Conditions may include high noise levels and specific industry practices for food manufacturing.

    Travel:

    Minimal travel may be required for plant visits or team meetings.
