Brief summary of position


The _Technical Strategist_, supports business growth by interfacing with potential customers, crafting technology solutions to solve customer needs, building prototypes of proposed solutions, and developing technical proposals.

This mid-level position has two essential focus areas: 1) this individual is a lead contributor to IT-oriented proposals and government business development (BD) activities, particularly in written Technical Volume content, applying: a general knowledge of standard government procurement methods for IT projects, the state of IT solutions today, and the ability to write concisely and clearly.

2) Additionally, the individual provides technical project leadership, organizing teams, and providing front line customer relationship management in support of winning new work.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical content (approaches, solutions, text and supporting graphics) to proposals and oral presentations for government.
  • Leads technical contributors to proposals including internal staff and partner staff.
  • Learns our contracts, past performance, and differentiators for competitive bids
  • Contributes to discussions on suitability of potential bids in the pipeline
  • Leads a Technical Volume/Oral Presentation/Coding Challenge

Required Skills:

Procurement / Business Development-Related Skills

  • Understands the federal procurement process, and is able to respond to federal RFPs and RFIs. Can shape a competitive response to satisfy solicitation requirements.
  • Writes with clarity about technical topics and technical approaches. Can address the topics in a technical volume of an IT government proposal. Can add innovative approaches.
  • Balances the goals of: creating bid differentiation, compliance, sales, technical correctness

  • Creates technical approaches in response to government procurements. Able to create technical figures and to concisely.
  • Can provide writing examples

Desired Skills
Knowledge of federal procurement norms/processes

Clear and concise writing

Foundational hands-on technology experience

Can organize a group of technical contributors (internal and external)


Pay Range:
$160,000 - $180,000


The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
