    Description

    As Knot continues to grow, we are on the lookout for a groundbreaking individual to serve as our inaugural in-house counsel. This role is designed for a unicorn candidate capable of shepherding both compliance, product, and business teams. We deal with novel issues every day that will give you an opportunity to work collaboratively across Knot's product and business teams, as well as with our customers and partners.

    Knot's first product offers a cutting-edge card-switching platform that seamlessly updates card-on-file information across various services, enhancing user engagement and minimizing churn for card issuers. Our mission is to build a merchant connectivity layer, making data portability more accessible, efficient, and secure. You will be leading product policy for new products, as well as drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.

    Qualifications:

    • JD
    • At least 5 years of experience in commercial-legal transactions, with proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial technology contracts gained in law firms or in-house roles.
    • A mindset aligned with Knot's culture: growth-oriented, positive, humble, and self-driven, with exceptional legal and business judgment. Humor is a +.
    • Thorough understanding of security and privacy laws and standards related to end-user data transfers.
    • Outstanding organizational, task management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • The agility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced fintech environment.
    • Preferably, experience in handling complex data licensing agreements within the fintech, financial services, or banking sectors.

    You will establish our in-house legal framework, guiding Knot through the complexities of payment regulations and contractual strategies. Your role will be critical as we expand our service offerings, welcoming major customers, forging significant partnerships, and launching innovative products that extend beyond conventional card switching.
