As a MedSurg RN, you will perform patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on the patients' immediate conditions or needs. Your responsibilities include ongoing assessments, providing treatments as prescribed by a physician, documenting patient findings, and offering education and support to patients' families. These are crucial aspects of this travel nurse role.
When working as a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you can expect to handle the following tasks:
Medical Surgical Travel Nurses should be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, bending, leaning, and stooping without issues. RNs should also be able to lift up to 20 pounds effortlessly, and at times, up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients. In a fast-paced environment, RNs will be attending to patients who might be confused, agitated, and uncooperative.
