    Job Description

    Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i's leader in the care of women, infants and children.

    With 243 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility.

    Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care.

    Over 1,500 employees and more than 630 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani.

    The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women's Center and the Women's Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.


    The Family Birth Center at Kapi'olani is dedicated to providing quality, comprehensive and family-centered obstetrical care, specializing in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery.

    This department is composed of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Nursery units and provides tertiary, level III perinatal services as well as obstetrical care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients.

    The team of professional staff at the Family Birth Center supports and educates patients and families to facilitate the optimal health of both mothers and newborns.

    Kapi'olani is recognized as Hawai'i's leader in the care of women and children and the major teaching hospital for the state's OB/GYN programs.


    If you have exceptional patient care skills and enjoy working as part of a dedicated nursing team, you can help us to ensure a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and their families as a Graduate Nurse in Kapi'olani's Family Birth Center.

    Under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, you will help to deliver quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care.

    We are looking for someone helpful and dedicated, with a fine-tuned sense of responsibility, the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Must meet education requirements for Hawai'i state Registered Nurse License.

    Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Hawai'i Board of Nursing.

    Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

    Prefered Qualifications:
    Must have completed Hawaii Pacific Health's Perinatal Academy Innovations Program at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.
