    Sr. Director, IT and Engineering

    Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations in Columbus, OH; Mason, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Chicago, IL; Manchester, NH; Boston, MA.

    The Sr. Director, IT and Engineering will be responsible for developing and executing more complex business information analyses at an expert level. This role will be responsible for leading support of CGS's HealthRules platform on behalf of CGS' new commercial client. This role will work with global teams to support and maintain a claims processing and adjudication system. This role will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of IT professionals located in India who support HealthEdge's Health Rules Payor claims application on behalf of the client. This role will be the primary "face to client" on all information technology issues in general and all Healthedge HRP topics specifically.

    How you will make an impact:

  • This individual will be responsible for managing and mentoring an IT support team around the world who keep the Healthedge HRP system online and fully functioning.
  • Play lead role interacting with Medigold and HealthEdge technology teams.
  • Mentor staff and be driven to learn and understand Medigold's most challenging business needs as well as how CGS can address the client's needs and meet their expectations.
  • Recognize and analyze problems of high complexity, and effectively communicate findings to Medigold and the CGS IT Support Team.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and correlation of other system and/or application problems.
  • Meet with client onsite in Columbus, OH multiple times per year.
  • Applies broad knowledge, experience, and insight to make smart decisions and recommendations.
  • Cultivates positive professional & interpersonal relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Effectively uses coaching, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion in interpersonal interactions.
  • Understands complex problems quickly, proposes solutions, and provides clear direction.
  • Undertakes complex assignments and projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge including data warehouse structures and application of database query tools.
  • Develops very complex and varied strategic report applications and analyses from a Data Warehouse.
  • Establishes and communicates common goals and direction for team.
  • Establishes and maintains advanced knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.
  • Acts as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.
  • Must be able to recognize when a strategic change in process is required and direct resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the desired business results.
  • Monitors project schedules and costs for own and other projects.
  • Develops and supports very complex Data Warehouse-related applications and analyses for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.
  • Designs and manages studies as requested by internal and external (e.g., Network Management, Health Solutions, Finance, NCQA, HEDIS) clients for purposes of ensuring accreditation, improving health, and analyzing business opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Assures quality and integrity of data collected, analysis performed, and reports generated.
  • Develops methods for improving internal techniques and processes.
  • Utilizes multiple data systems to accomplish objectives.
  • Minimum Requirements:

    Requires a BS/BA degree; a minimum of 8 years experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • 2+ years of leadership/management experience of software developers and engineers strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing offshore IT support team strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience providing customer facing support for enterprise SaaS solutions with deep HealthEdge / Health Rule Payor product expertise strongly preferred.
  • Expert in both UI test automation tools and API testing preferred.
  • Experience using Continuous Integration environments, tools and automation to streamline QA processes preferred.
  • Experience with web technologies, middleware such as WebLogic/WebSphere and popular RDBMS systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (preferably Oracle), understanding schemas, database structures and ability to write and debug SQL queries preferred.
  • Experience with SOAP and WebServices is preferred.
  • Experience in managed care and data analysis required.
  • Understanding of multiple data sources and formats and excellent knowledge and understanding of data warehouse structures, data flows and standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree in business, science, or health research is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization including executives is strongly preferred.
