Wesley Palms, an upscale retirement community, is looking for an experienced
(1) KITCHEN TRAY SERVER - FULLTIME POSITION.

JOB SUMMARY


Under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef, a Tray Server, interacts with our residents and employees of Front Porch residential facilities, and ensures they have a great experience when dining.

Tray servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving in a friendly and efficient manner.

At all times, tray servers are expected to be attentive to our guests needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Tray servers are expected to have some basic cooking knowledge by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, coworkers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
  • Distribute menus, collect diet sheets, and deliver food trays and snacks to nursing units or directly to residents.
  • Portion and wrap the food, or place it directly on plates for service to residents.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
  • Package takeout foods or serve food to residents.
  • Work on assembly lines adding cutlery, napkins, food, and other items to trays.
  • Weigh or measure ingredients.
  • Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service, or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets.
  • Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for serving.
  • Mix ingredients for green salads, molded fruit salads, vegetable salads, and pasta salads.
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
  • Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods.
  • Follows highest standards of cleanliness. Follows all federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
  • Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
  • Follows department safety standards, practice correct body mechanic techniques and participate in campuswide safety programs.
  • Attends all mandatory inservice meetings. Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.
  • Understand facility's fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.   • Less than high school education; or up to 1 month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of 23syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract 2digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
