    Position Summary:


    Focused on donor engagement of and promoting aligned giving by the Foundation's donors with an emphasis on advisors to Donor Advised Funds, the Donor Engagement Associate will support the Associate Vice President (AVP) and organize and leverage opportunities for the department to proactively engage donors.

    This position plays a central role in helping to organize and leverage the Associate Vice President's impact, both internally and externally.

    Duties may include assisting with project management, programmatic research and support of donor grantmaking by developing letters and other personalized materials, planning donor outreach activities, organizing nonprofit learning sessions in collaboration with the Program department, and working alongside other members of the Development and Donor Services team to develop donor materials.

    The Associate, Donor Engagement needs to be an organized, solutions-oriented, self-directed, and flexible person who will be a committed and contributing team player.


    Essential Functions:
    Under direction will develop, draft and send monthly e-newsletter and other outreach to the Boston Foundation (TBF) donor community;
    Ensure timely and accurate communication on behalf of the AVP, including fulfilling internal and external requests for information;
    Strategically manage the AVP's calendar, including scheduling of meetings and conference calls;
    Coordinate, under the guidance of the AVP and in collaboration with other members of the department and across the organization, special donor-focused projects with the goal of donor satisfaction and impactful philanthropy;
    Cultivate a portfolio of Donor Advised Fund holders as back-up relationship to AVP's portfolio;
    Collect and compile giving opportunities and nonprofit information to be easily shared across the Development and Donor Services (DDS) department, utilizing the Grants Management System (GMS) system and other knowledge management tools;
    Coordinate Presidential acknowledgement process, in collaboration with the President's Office;
    Represent DDS in cross-departmental planning for events, email and mailing coordination;
    Maintain prospect, donor and fund records in Salesforce database; ensures timely entry of activities;
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement and uphold data integrity protocols to ensure accurate reporting and inform departmental activities;
    Prepare and maintain the Donor Services/Relations team's project files, attend meetings and prepare meeting notes as necessary; and
    Provide general administrative support to other department team members as requested.

    Qualifications


    Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
    College degree or equivalent experience; and
    1-3 years office-based administrative experience, preferably in a Development environment.

    Ability to work with evolving priorities and timelines;
    Ability to prioritize tasks and meet organizational deadlines;
    Familiarity with and/or interest in the non-profit sector, development, and/or non-profit management;
    Commitment to contributing to an overall organizational culture of learning and wellbeing;
    An entrepreneurial spirit eager to build and grow; and
    Preference for an awareness, understanding, and connection to the Boston community.

    Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
    Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time;
    Ability to work on site and remotely, as required; and
    Ability to use a keyboard for extended periods of time.
