Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
The primary purpose of the Office for Adult Learners, Transfer, and Military Students is to advocate, guide, and support non-traditional undergraduate students from admission to graduation. The goals of this office include providing accurate and timely information and support to Fayetteville State University's non-traditional student populations, creating engaging programming with the personal and professional goals and responsibilities of non-traditional students in mind, and serving as an advocate for non-traditional students who have made the decision to obtain an education in a traditional student environment.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Adult Learner, Transfer, and Military Students Program Coordinator supports all activities and initiatives of the Office for Adult Learners, Transfer, and Military Students, to include, but not limited to assisting the executive director with time sensitive projects, collaborating with cross-campus stakeholders, implementation of academic strategies to support our non-traditional student population, and planning activities and events.
Description of Work Continued:
50% – Assists with coordinating and planning of all activities related to the Office for Adult Learners, Transfer, and Military Students.
20% – Collaborates with all campus stakeholders to include FSU at Fort Liberty, Military and Veteran Student Resource Center, Faculty, New Student Orientation, Counseling Center, Student Government Association, Advising Center, Bronco One Stop, and Bronco Boost.
10% – Performs office tasks including monitoring the budget, ordering supplies, updating the webpage, and performing basic bookkeeping.
5% – Provides quality customer service when responding to phone calls, walk-ins, and emails ranging from, but not limited to admissions, registration, and any academic support questions or concerns.
5% – Provides academic guidance and support to current and prospective adult learners, transfer, and military students.
5% – Manage executive director's calendar by monitoring schedule for appointments and deadlines.
5% –Assists with the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred. Two years of experience within the community college student services areas preferred. Military-affiliation preferred.
