    Job Description

    Reporting to the Streets Division Manager, the Concrete Worker is responsible for the installation and repair of City streets, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.

    • ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    • Remove, construct, and finish concrete projects:
      • Remove existing concrete
      • Read and set grade
      • Construct necessary forms
      • Finish newly poured curbs, gutters, and sidewalks
    • Maintain the condition of City streets during winter:
      • Operate snow removal equipment
      • Patch asphalt
      • Maintain street signs and pavement markings

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two years documented apprentice level experience in concrete finishing, or equivalent combination of related education and experience
    • Must have a valid state driver's license with a Class B CDL endorsement (including Tanker endorsements) or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment

    NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    1. Knowledge of concrete removal and finishing techniques
    2. Skilled in concrete finishing and operation of various equipment
    3. Effective verbal and written communication skills

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Physical demands and work environment:
    - Requires standing, walking, and manual dexterity
    - Occasional lifting and moving up to 100 pounds
    - Work in outside weather conditions and exposure to wet/humid conditions

    Specific vision abilities:
    - Close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment
