The Insurance Billing Specialist will interact with all insurance companies primarily on Hearing Aids/Durable Medical Equipment and clinical billing. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of a clean claim to various insurance payors, including commercial and government payors, while adhering to government regulations and coding guidelines.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for running the systembased worklist and identifying all unbilled claims.
Responsible for reviewing invoices to ensure all billing requirements are met.
Keep up to date on industry changes and accepted billing practices
Responsible for creating and submitting complete insurance claims within acceptable date lag from DOS, once the claim has been flagged to bill
Review and resolve claims that were rejected in the clearinghouse with an acceptable time frame of submission. Notifies and collaborates with the clinic team to obtain any missing/incorrect information for unbilled claims promptly.
Partners with the AR and Insurance Followup Specialists to assist with resolving any claims issues.
Resolve any assigned SNOW tickets from the field.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Work Experience

Background in healthcare
Prior medical insurance billing experience
Basic Medical Terminology
Experience with completing billing forms
Experience in dealing with various insurance companies.
Working knowledge of Excel
12 years of related experience in a professional or hospital setting
Must be organized and ability to work within designated timeframes
Must be able to multitask.
Detail oriented
Must be able to work remotely and achieve expected outcomes as defined by CBO leadership
